Alicia Lorraine Holst Scholarship

  • Students must submit a teacher recommendation, stating why the student is suitable to receive scholarship award.
  • The preferred student will be chosen based on the following considerations: school and community activities, work experience, essay content, 4-H involvement.
  • Must be pursuing a degree in the medical/allied health field.

Beth Helrigel Wester Memorial Scholarship

  • TK, U, V, A, F
  • Must be pursuing a major or minor in art, music or business.
  • Students must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
  • The preferred student will be chosen based on the following considerations: school and community activities, work experience, essay content.

David and Barbara Dykstra Family Matching EMS

  • TK,V, U
  • Consideration will be given to members of the Thornapple Township Emergency Service.
  • Students must submit a statement of the length of time volunteering with EMS.
  • Recommendation of Fire/EMS Chief or Operations Officer.

  • Be seeking a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Product Development.
  • Plan to work and live in the Hastings area upon graduation.
  • Recommendations from high school Science and Math teachers as being one of the “best of the best” in this particular field, demonstrating high intellect, creativity and a sincere interest in this field of study.

George and Doris Leonard Scholarship

  • Preference is given based on: citizenship/attendance, integrity, and essay content.

GFWC-Hastings Women’s Club “Jumpstart Your Future” Scholarship

  • HS, U, V, F
  • Must be a female.
  • Must work part-time while acquiring their education.
  • Consideration, but not preference, will be given to GFWC family members.
  • Must include a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) with application. Provided with the FASA.
  • Three personal reference letters.

GFWC- Hastings Women’s Club Nontraditional Nursing School Scholarship

  • Must be a female residing in Barry County
  • Must be accepted to an accredited LPN or RN nursing program and provide a copy of the acceptance letter from school of choice.
  • Needs to be working part-time while acquiring her education.
  • Three personal reference letters.

Gladys Carol Williams Scholarship for Academic Excellence

  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
  • The preferred student will be chosen on the following considerations: citizenship/attendance, scholarship, integrity.

Hastings Business & Professional Women – Women Helping Women Non-Traditional Scholarship

  • B, U, G
  • The preferred applicant will be chosen on the following considerations: demonstrated desire to complete this degree or training, essay content.
  • This scholarship is open to males and females, but consideration will be given to female applicants.
  • This non-traditional scholarship is awarded to an applicant who is returning to the workplace, changing careers or entering into the workforce for the first time.  It is targeted to those 21 years of age or older.

Jeffery Lehman Memorial Scholarship

  • Must have been a member of one or more high school athletic teams.

John F. & Gladys M. Chamberlain Scholarship

  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
  • The preferred student will be chosen on the following considerations: character and potential.

Samuel McKeown Memorial Scholarship

  • Students must submit a teacher recommendation.
  • Students must be pursuing a 4-year degree in business, medicine, biology, nursing or engineering.
  • The preferred student will be chosen based on the following considerations: demonstrated desire to complete this degree: citizenship; community involvement, work experience or other non-academic activities; essay content.

Tad Thatcher Music Scholarship

  • Scholarship for a TK High School Band-Choral Student (grades 9-11) who will attend a summer music camp/program. Example: Interlochen. Or for use to travel with a significant music organization.
  • Must provide a letter of recommendation from the Thornapple-Kellogg Band or Choral Director.

  • Must be pursuing a 2 or 4 degree at an accredited college or university in the field of agricultural science, conservation, floriculture, horticulture, landscape design, or any related field.

Travis Wenger Memorial Scholarship

  • The preferred student will have been an active 4-H member and participant at the Barry County Fair for four or more consecutive years.
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from an adult in at least three of the following areas: 4-H leader, teacher, coach, employer, pastor, neighbor, athletic director, etc. Letters from immediate family members will not qualify.

Viking Group Scholarship

  • U, V, A,
  • Children up to the age of 23 of full-time Viking Group, Inc., U.S., employees who have been actively employed with the company at a location outside of West Michigan for at least one year prior to the application deadline date;
  •  High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school; and
  •  Maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
