Unrestricted Funds

Targets the needs of Barry County without restriction to any organization or field of interest. You may establish a named fund with a donation of $5,000 and add to it at any time. If the value of your fund reaches $25,000, you can choose to convert it to another type of fund, such as a Scholarship or Donor Advised Fund.

BCF Community Wide Grantmaking Fund  Established 7/31/1995 

This fund shall be used for the support of charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes for and by the people of Barry County.

Carl Grashuis Family Fund  Established 12/31/2002

This fund, whose advisors are the children and grandchildren of Mr. Grashuis, was created to support charitable activities within Barry County.

Next Generation Fund Established 10/21/2005

This fund is used to provide charitable support to Barry County, as recommended by the advisory committee of this fund. The fund’s members consist of community residents from the ages of “twenty-something” to “forty- something.” The goal of the Next Generation Fund is to provide convenient, family- minded opportunities for philanthropy among the “Next Generation.”

Thornapple Foundation Gift Fund  Established 1/17/1997

This fund provides grants for special projects of the Barry Community Foundation, as advised by the donor and approved by the BCF Board of Directors.
