Andrea M. Storrs Scholarship Fund
1. Must be a graduating high school senior from Hastings Area Schools.
2. One male and one female will each receive a scholarship every year.
3. Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
4. Financial need is a requirement, and students must fill out the FAFSA application: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
5. Must have a GPA of at least 2.5
6. Students must have participated in athletics and fine arts in high school.
7. Must be pursuing a degree in the field of education.
Barry County Humane Society Compassion and Love for Animals
• Must be a graduating high school senior from a Barry County school or a resident living in Barry County.
• Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
• Financial need is not a requirement, but students must fill out the FAFSA application: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
• Academic achievement is preferred.
• Must be pursuing a field of study related to animal such as but not limited to: veterinarian, veterinary tech, animal behavior, wild life conservation, zoology etc.
Barry County Substance Abuse Task Force Youth Scholarship
- Student must be a graduating senior of Barry County
- Student must be accepted to an accredited educational institution
- Student must demonstrate leadership and service in the area of substance abuse prevention among their peers and community
- Student will be evaluated on essay content
Caledonia Farmers Elevator Robert Newman Educational Scholarship Fund
Fund Purpose: The Caledonia Farmers Elevator Robert Newman Educational Scholarship Fund was established for the purpose of providing scholarships to students region-wide who are pursuing a career in Agriculture or Agribusiness.
- Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a Michigan resident
- Student must be a graduating senior of a Michigan accredited High School or Home School.
- Must declare a major in Agriculture/Agribusiness
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits each semester
- Must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better
- Strong consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate their desire to complete this degree, citizenship, community involvement through non-academic or volunteer activities, work related experience or affiliation with Caledonia Farmers Elevator.
Coach and Kathleen Clarey Scholarship
Must be a graduating high school senior from Hastings High School.
Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
Financial need is not a requirement, but students must fill out the FAFSA application: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
Students pursuing a degree in Education preferred; however others can be considered.
Students planning to attend U of M or WMU preferred; however other in-state Universities can be considered.
Applicant must have a GPA of at least of 3.0.
Coleman Agency MJ Scholarship Fund
This fund shall assist any Barry County resident who wishes to pursue a trades or vocational degree or certification.
- Student must be a resident of Barry County pursuing a vocational degree or certification.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited program though a vocational/technical school, community college, or certification program.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
DKEF – Barbara Colleen Hooten Memorial Scholarship for Hastings
- Student must be a graduating senior of Hastings High School system.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited college or university.
- Student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
- Student must be pursuing a degree in education.
Eldon P Willard Scholarship
- Student must be a graduating senior of Hastings High School.
- Student will be evaluated on athletic involvement with special consideration given to students who have participated in karate.
- Additional consideration given to sportsman with an interest in hunting and fishing.
- Academic achievement is desirable.
- Leadership ability must be demonstrated, along with community involvement.
- Student must be accepted at an accredited college or university.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation.
Emil Tyden Founders Scholarship Fund
- Student must be a graduate of a Barry County High School.
- Student must be enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university.
- Student must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Student must be planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/product Development.
- Student must express a desire to live and work in the Hastings, MI area upon graduation.
- Student must provide letters of recommendation from their high school science and math teachers.
GFWC Hastings Women’s Club “Jumpstart Your Future” Scholarship Fund
- Hastings Area Schools
- Graduating seniors
- Financial need required
- Student must submit three letters of personal reference
- Must work part-time while acquiring their education
- Consideration, but not preference, will be given to GFWC family members
- Must submit a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR – provided with the FAFSA)
- Must be a female
Gies Family Scholarship Fund
- Must be a graduating High School graduating senior from Hastings.
- Student must pursue a career in math, pre-dentistry, biological science or environmental sciences.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school.
- Applicants will be evaluated on essay quality and content.
- One letter of recommendation from a high school teacher, counselor, principal, employer, community volunteer leader or religious leader.
Jane Morris Memorial
- Student must be a graduating senior of a Barry County high school
- Student must demonstrate academic achievement and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school.
- Financial need is not a requirement
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer work, or work experience.
- Student must be involved in 4H through the Barry County Fair.
- Student must demonstrate leadership ability.
Jim and Mel Hund Scholarship
- Hastings or Delton Kellogg Area Schools
- Graduating senior
- A 3.0(GPA) desired
- Student must be pursuing a degree in Education.
- Financial need required
- Student should have demonstrated participation in athletics or music.
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through school activities, non-academic school activities and/or community activities.
Marshall J. Seger Scholarship Fund
- Barry County Residents
- Graduating senior or graduate
- Student must demonstrate financial need
- Student must be accepted to an accredited educational institution.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content
Mary Youngs Music and Athletic Memorial Scholarship
- Student must be a graduating senior of Hastings High School
- Student must be accepted to an accredited educational institution
- Student must have participated in at least four years of sports AND four years of music curriculum
- Student will be evaluated on essay content
Southside Pediatrics Scholarship Fund
- Must be a Barry County graduate or a graduating senior in the current academic year.
- Student plans to pursue a career dedicated to improving the lives of children. Some examples are: Teacher, Counselor, pediatric PT, OT or Speech, youth minister, para-professional, genetic counseling or child life specialist.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
- One letter of recommendation from a high school teacher, counselor, principal, employer, community volunteer leader or religious leader.
TAC – Ethel Denton Groos Scholarship Fund
- Student must be a Barry County resident.
- Student must be planning to pursue a 4 year degree in a Fine Arts program.
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer work, or work experience.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
TAEF – Robert Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund
1. Must be a graduating high school senior from Thornapple Kellogg Schools or Hastings Area Schools.
2. Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school.
3. Student must be pursuing a degree in the field of education.

5. Applicants will be evaluated on their essays
6. Leadership experience is preferred.
7. Community service experience is preferred.
TAEF – Travis Wenger 4-H Scholarship
- Student must be a graduating senior or a full time (minimum 12 credit hours) freshman at an accredited institution or vocational program.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited college, university or vocational institution.
- Student must provide at least three letters of recommendation from the following areas: 4-H Leader, teacher, coach, employer, pastor, neighbor or athletic director. Letters from immediate family members WILL NOT qualify.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content. Essay must include:
- The value of the 4-H program from previous experiences to future endeavors.
- Explanation on how 4-H has prepared the applicant for his/her future.
- Involvement in community service projects including contributions during fair week.
- Student must be an active 4-H member and participant of the Barry County Fair for the last four or more consecutive years.
Team Barry County Entrepreneurship Scholarship
- Barry County Resident
- Graduating senior or graduate
- Must be accepted into an entrepreneurship program at a Michigan School.
- Minimum of a 2.5(GPA) required
- Must submit at least 2 letters of recommendation (either Community Leader, Academic or Business).
- Must demonstrate community involvement.
Thornapple Garden Club “Walk Gently on this Good Earth” Scholarship
- Student must be a Barry County Resident
- Student must be accepted to an accredited educational institution
- Student must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in the field of agricultural science, conservation, floricultural, horticultural, landscape design, or any related field
- Student must demonstrate financial need
- Consideration will be given to Thornapple Garden Club members and family
- Student will be evaluated on essay content
Viking Group West Michigan Scholarship
- Student must be a child of a full-time Viking Group, Inc. U.S. employee who has been actively employed with the company at a West Michigan location for at least one year prior to the application deadline date
- Student must be 23 years of age or younger
- Student must be accepted to a 2 or 4 year accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school
- Student must enroll full-time
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Student will be evaluated on essay content
