Caledonia Farmers Elevator Robert Newman Educational Scholarship Fund
Fund Purpose: The Caledonia Farmers Elevator Robert Newman Educational Scholarship Fund was established for the purpose of providing scholarships to students region-wide who are pursuing a career in Agriculture or Agribusiness.
- Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a Michigan resident
- Student must be a graduating senior of a Michigan accredited High School or Home School.
- Must declare a major in Agriculture/Agribusiness
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits each semester
- Must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better
- Strong consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate their desire to complete this degree, citizenship, community involvement through non-academic or volunteer activities, work related experience or affiliation with Caledonia Farmers Elevator.
Coleman Agency MJ Scholarship Fund
This fund shall assist any Barry County resident who wishes to pursue a trades or vocational degree or certification.
- Student must be a resident of Barry County pursuing a vocational degree or certification.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited program though a vocational/technical school, community college, or certification program.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
GFWC – Gun Lake Area (Women’s Club) Scholarship for Martin
- Must be a graduating high school senior from Martin.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
- Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to communicate through their written responses to the questions included in the application as well as the interview process.
- Leadership experience is required.
- Community/volunteer experience is required.
- Financial need is not a requirement.
GFWC – Gun Lake Area (Women’s Club) Skilled Trade Scholarships
1. Must be a graduating high school senior from Wayland, Martin, Thornapple Kellogg, or Delton Kellogg. Four scholarships will be awarded (one to each school).
2. Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
3. Qualified applicant must be pursuing a skilled trades degree or certification.
4. Applicant’s high school GPA should be between 2.0 and 3.5.
5. Financial need is not a requirement, but students must fill out the FAFSA application: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
6. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to communicate through their written responses to the questions included in the application as well as the interview process.
7. Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer or work experience.
8. Work experience is preferred.
6. Evaluation of essay responses and finalist interview will also be considered.
Marshall J. Seger Scholarship Fund
- Barry County Residents
- Graduating senior or graduate
- Student must demonstrate financial need
- Student must be accepted to an accredited educational institution.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content
Team Barry County Entrepreneurship Scholarship
- Barry County Resident
- Graduating senior or graduate
- Must be accepted into an entrepreneurship program at a Michigan School.
- Minimum of a 2.5(GPA) required
- Must submit at least 2 letters of recommendation (either Community Leader, Academic or Business).
- Must demonstrate community involvement.
Thornapple Garden Club “Walk Gently on this Good Earth” Scholarship
- Student must be a Barry County Resident
- Student must be accepted to an accredited educational institution
- Student must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in the field of agricultural science, conservation, floricultural, horticultural, landscape design, or any related field
- Student must demonstrate financial need
- Consideration will be given to Thornapple Garden Club members and family
- Student will be evaluated on essay content
Viking Group West Michigan Scholarship
- Student must be a child of a full-time Viking Group, Inc. U.S. employee who has been actively employed with the company at a West Michigan location for at least one year prior to the application deadline date
- Student must be 23 years of age or younger
- Student must be accepted to a 2 or 4 year accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school
- Student must enroll full-time
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Student will be evaluated on essay content
