Barry County Humane Society Compassion and Love for Animals
- Must be a graduating high school senior from a Barry County school or a resident living in Barry County.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.

- Academic achievement is preferred.
- Must be pursuing a field of study related to animal such as but not limited to: veterinarian, veterinary tech, animal behavior, wild life conservation, zoology, etc.
Coleman Agency MJ Scholarship Fund
- Student must be a resident of Barry County pursuing a vocational degree or certification.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited program though a vocational/technical school, community college, or certification program.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
DKEF – Frank Conor Memorial Reaching for the Future Scholarship Fund
- Student must be a graduating senior of TK Alternative Education, Maple Valley Pathways, DK Academy or Hastings Virtual Academy.
- Student must submit a letter of recommendation from any of the following individuals: teacher, counselor, employer, community volunteer leader, or religious leader.
DKEF – Mary Collier Bard Fan Scholarship
- Must be a graduating high school senior from Delton Kellogg High School or a Delton graduate who has taken a college level Shakespeare course and received a B grade or better.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
- Financial need is not a requirement, but students must fill out the FAFSA application: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Must provide an additional personal statement indicating “what Shakespeare character is most like you and why.”
DKEF – George & Doris Leonard Scholarship
- Graduating senior or graduate of Delton Kellogg Schools.
- Minimum of a 3.5(GPA) required.
- Students must be pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree or vocational, technical degree, or certification.
- Financial need required.
- Preference is given based on: citizenship/attendance, integrity, and essay content.

- Student must be a graduating senior or graduate of Delton Kellogg Schools.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited college or university.
- Student must be planning to study in the field of math, education, music, or history. If no applicants qualify based on field of study, others will be considered.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
- Student will be evaluated on character and potential.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
Doris Greenfield Nursing Scholarship
- Student must be a female resident of Barry County 21 years or older.
- Student must be accepted to a nursing program through an accredited program though a vocational/technical school, community college, or certification program.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
General Federation of Women’s Club – Gun Lake Area Post Secondary Job Training Scholarships
The purpose of our grants is to award $500 to graduating high school seniors from Delton Kellogg, Martin, Thornapple Kellogg, and Wayland Union High Schools.
This should help provide students with hands-on experiences directly related to a specific occupation. At the end of a program, a certificate or diploma should be received after preparation for a licensing exam, or by becoming an apprentice or journeyman in a skilled trade.
Examples of post secondary job trainings are as follows:
Web designers, electricians, dog groomers, CDL truck drivers, culinary school, welders, plumbers, mechanics, nurses’ aides, baker, medical rehabilitation services, cosmetology, masseuse, machinists, medical assistant, dental hygienist, tool and die makers, insulators, HAVC technicians, medical service technicians, medical therapists, gasfitters, linemen, orderlies, carpenters, bricklayers, technicians, etc.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant must be a high school senior from above listed high schools.
- Applicant must be pursuing an accredited post-secondary school, vocational or technical institute, community college or a certification program.
- Financial need is not a requirement
- Community involvement through non-academic activities, volunteer or work
Grant money is available for: tuition, fees, books, supplies and other expenses incurred for your post secondary job training.
GFWC Hastings Women’s Club Non-Traditional Nursing Scholarship
- Student must be a female Barry County Resident.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited LPN or RN nursing program and provide a copy of acceptance letter from school of choice.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content. Consideration will be given to GFWC family members.
- Student must submit a copy of the student aid report (SAR provided with the FAFSA).
- Student must submit three letters of personal reference.
Marshall J. Seger Scholarship Fund
- Must be a Barry County resident.
- Student must be accepted into an accredited educational institution.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Must be a First Generation College bound student.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
Southside Pediatrics Scholarship Fund
- Must be a Barry County graduate or a graduating senior in the current academic year.
- Student plans to pursue a career dedicated to improving the lives of children. Some examples are: Teacher, Counselor, pediatric PT, OT or Speech, youth minister, para-professional, genetic counseling or child life specialist.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
- One letter of recommendation from a high school teacher, counselor, principal, employer, community volunteer leader or religious leader.
TAEF – Adele and Arnold Parker Family Scholarship Fund
- Student must be a graduate or graduating senior of Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher required.
- Community/School/ Work involvement and essay will be considered.
TAEF – Gerald L. Page Education Scholarship Fund
- Student must be a graduating senior or graduate of Thornapple Kellogg.
- Student must be accepted at an accredited college, university or trade school.
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 (GPA).
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher AND a letter of personal character reference from a non-family member.
- Student must demonstrate community, school and/or work involvement.
TAEF – John & Maxine Robertson Scholarship Fund
- Must reside within the Thornapple Kellogg School District.
- Graduating senior, graduate, or home school senior.
- Minimum of a 2.0(GPA) required.
- Student must be planning to pursue an associate degree, vocational certificate or vocational license.
- Student must submit a letter of teacher recommendation.
TAEF – Lois Ann Nagel-Seppanen Scholarship Fund
- Graduating senior or graduate of Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Student must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in business, management or accounting.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
- Must submit a letter of teacher recommendation.
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer work, or work experience.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
TAEF – Lynn Helrigel Summers Memorial Fund
- Must be a graduating senior from Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Minimum of a 2.5(GPA) required.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Must be pursuing a major or minor in the fields of art or music; if no qualified music or art students apply, education majors will be considered.
- Must submit a letter of teacher recommendation.
- The preferred student will be chosen on the following considerations: community/school/work involvement and essay content.
TAEF – Middleville Women’s Club Scholarship Fund
- Must be a graduating senior from Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Student must submit a letter of teacher recommendation.
- The preferred student will be chosen based on an essay contest.
TAEF – Mom’s Scholarship in memory of Virginia Hoover Harrison Root
- Be a Barry County resident mother.
- Must be accepted to an approved college or vocational/technical course of study.
- Have custody of and be responsible for daily care of dependent children (under 18 years old).
- Be a recipient of or applying for a Pell Grant (and other federal financial aid).
- Not to be a dependent claimed on another individual Federal Tax Return.
TAEF – Ray Page Scholar-Athlete Memorial Fund
- Student must be a graduating senior or graduate of Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited college, university or technical program.
- Student must have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
- Student must have participated in a sport for a minimum of two years.
- Student must demonstrate exemplary character both in and out of the classroom.
TAEF – Samuel McKeown Memorial Scholarships
- Student must be a graduating senior or graduate of Thornapple Kellogg Schools Student must be accepted to an accredited college or university.
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Students must be pursuing a 4-year degree in business, medicine, biology, nursing or engineering.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer work, or work experience.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
TAEF – The McCullough Family Scholarship – Delton Kellogg
- Must be Delton Kellogg area resident.
- Graduating seniors, graduate or home school senior.
- Minimum of a 2.6(GPA) required.
- Students must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in business, education or ministry.
- Financial need required.
- Students must submit a letter of teacher recommendation.
TAEF – The McCullough Family Scholarship – Thornapple Kellogg
- Must be a Thornapple Kellogg area resident.
- Graduating seniors, graduate or home school senior.
- Minimum of a 2.6(GPA) required. Students must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in business, education or ministry.
- Financial need required.
- Students must submit a letter of teacher recommendation.
TAEF – Thornapple Kellogg Alumni Association Fund
- Must be a graduate of or a graduating high school senior from Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
- Financial need is not a requirement and families with middle income are preferred. Students, however, must fill out the FAFSA application: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Fiscally responsibility students who are taking an active role in their post-secondary costs are preferred.
- Work experience is preferred.
TAEF – Thornapple Kellogg Tradesman Scholarship
- Must be a graduate of or a graduating high school senior from Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Students pursuing a career as a professional firefighter are preferred. If none apply, students seeking a certification at technical or vocational school will be considered.
- High school GPA should be between 2.0 and 3.0.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school or vocational/technical institute.
- Financial need is not a requirement and families with middle income are preferred. Students, however, must fill out the FAFSA application: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Leadership experience in the form of school and/or community involvement is required.
- Work experience is preferred.
TAEF – Travis Wenger 4-H Scholarship
- Student must be a graduating senior or a full time (minimum 12 credit hours) freshman at an accredited institution or vocational program.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited college, university or vocational institution.
- Student must provide at least three letters of recommendation from the following areas: 4-H Leader, teacher, coach, employer, pastor, neighbor or athletic director. Letters from immediate family members WILL NOT qualify.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content. Essay must include:
- The value of the 4-H program from previous experiences to future endeavors.
- Explanation on how 4-H has prepared the applicant for his/her future.
- Involvement in community service projects including contributions during fair week.
- Student must be an active 4-H member and participant of the Barry County Fair for the last four or more consecutive years.
Team Barry County Entrepreneurship Scholarship
- Must be a Barry County resident.
- Graduating senior or graduate.
- Must be accepted into an entrepreneurship program at a Michigan School.
- Minimum of a 2.5(GPA) required.
- Must submit at least 2 letters of recommendation (either Community Leader – Academic or Business).
- Must demonstrate community involvement.
Thornapple Garden Club “Walk Gently on this Good Earth” Scholarship
- Student must be a Barry County Resident or attend a Barry County School.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited educational institution.
- Student must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in the field of agricultural science, conservation, floricultural, horticultural, landscape design, or any related field.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Consideration will be given to Thornapple Garden Club members and family.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
UAW Local 1002 Scholarship
- Student must be a resident of Barry County pursuing a vocational degree or certification.
- Student must be accepted to an accredited program though a vocational/technical school, community college, or certification program.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
Viking Group West Michigan Scholarship
- Student must be a child of a full-time Viking Group, Inc. U.S. employee who has been actively employed with the company at a West Michigan location for at least one year prior to the application deadline date.
- Student must be 23 years of age or younger.
- Student must be accepted to a 2 or 4 year accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school.
- Student must enroll full-time.
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
Women Helping Women Non-Traditional Scholarship
- Must be a Barry County residents.
- Student must be a non-traditional applicant who is returning to the workplace, changing careers, or entering into the workforce for the first time.
- Consideration is given to female applicants who are 21 years of age or older.
