Grantee Media Kit

You received a grant. Now you can help your community see what it will make possible.

This kit offers simple ways to share your project, recognize Barry Community Foundation’s support, and show donors how local giving benefits Barry County.

How Do I Announce a Barry Community Foundation Grant?

You can announce your grant on your website, in a local newspaper, through your newsletter or annual report, and on social media. Name the project, explain who it will help, and describe what the funding will make possible. The steps and sample press release below can help you get started.

Start With Your Grant Story

A useful announcement answers three questions:

  1. What will the grant support? Name the project or service.
  2. Who will benefit? Explain the local need or opportunity in plain language.
  3. What happens next? Share what your organization plans to do.

Use the details in your grant award information to check names, amounts, project descriptions, and any fund-specific acknowledgment before you publish.

Ways to Share the News

Add the Grant to Your Website

Post a short update about the project and link to the Barry Community Foundation. You may include the Foundation’s logo where appropriate. If you need a current logo file or guidance on its use, ask the Foundation’s team or see the logo buttons below.

Contact a Local Newspaper

Use the sample press release as a starting point for announcing your project to local media. The existing media kit suggests contacting J-Ad Graphics and indicating which newspaper you would like to receive the release.

Barry Community Foundation can also provide a quote specific to your organization. Contact the team before adding a Foundation quote to your announcement.

Tell Your Supporters

Share the news in your newsletter, annual report, or other updates to supporters. Explain the project’s local impact, and share progress or results when they are available.

Post about the grant and what it will help your organization do. Link to Barry Community Foundation on Facebook, and use its logo where appropriate.

The Foundation’s current guidance also asks grantees to send a high-resolution version of their organization’s logo. Contact the team if you are unsure where to send it.
