The Bridge

The Bridge brings together young professionals who want to build relationships, grow as community leaders, and make a direct impact in Barry County.



Members connect through meetings, volunteer opportunities, social events, leadership development, and an annual member-directed grant cycle.

What Is The Bridge?

The Bridge is a Barry County program for adults ages 21 to 40. It connects members through professional development, networking, volunteer opportunities, and local philanthropy. Adults aged 40 and older are welcome to participate as mentors.

Connect With Other Young Professionals

The Bridge creates flexible opportunities to meet people who care about Barry County.



Meetings are held throughout the year at BCF Hall, with a virtual option available. Members can also take part in optional social events, volunteer activities, and networking opportunities.

Help Direct Local Grant Funding

Members have a direct voice in how annual grant funds are used.


Each year, members choose one of Barry Community Foundation’s Seven Elements of a Thriving Community as the focus for the grant cycle:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Basic Needs
  • Economic Prosperity
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Health
  • Neighborhoods


Members review eligible applications and vote on how available grant funds should be awarded.

Membership Details

Membership is currently available for:

  • $100 per year or $25 per quarter during the designated registration period
  • Must live in Barry County or have a meaningful connection to the community
  • Join during a designated registration window (first: Sept 15–Nov 11; second: March 11–18)
  • Should be between 21–40 (40+ welcome to join as a mentor)
  • Be inspired to make a difference in your community


Membership fees help build the annual grant pool. Members also decide how a portion of annual membership funding is invested in The Bridge Endowment Fund for future community impact.
