What is The Bridge?
Comprised of members aged 21–40 (those 40+ are welcome to join as mentors), The Bridge is a community program built around connection, professional development, and a member-directed annual grant cycle. Membership is $100 per year, or $25 per quarter during the designated registration period. This fee helps build the year’s grant pool, and a portion is invested into The Bridge Endowment Fund for lasting impact — the exact share is determined by members at the year’s first meeting.
The goal of The Bridge is to create a space for young professionals to connect, grow as community leaders, and get involved in local philanthropy — all while fitting into busy schedules. Members are given a direct voice in how grant funds are spent.
Time commitment is flexible. Meetings are held throughout the year at BCF Hall (with a virtual option for every meeting), alongside a variety of optional social, networking, and volunteer events.
Each year, members vote to choose one of the Foundation’s Seven Elements of a Thriving Community — Arts & Culture, Basic Needs, Economic Prosperity, Education, Environment, Health, or Neighborhoods — as the focus for that year’s grant cycle. Grant applications are due March 2nd and are reviewed and voted on by members.
Members determine how many grants are awarded based on the funds available, and each eligible member receives one vote (mentors do not vote).
