What is NextGen?
Comprised of members aged 18-50. It is a group that initiates once a year grant cycle and service project as well as networking. Membership is $150 per person. This fee will go towards granting for the year. Any donations over this will go towards the endowment unless otherwise specified.
The goal of the Next Generation Fund is to create a venue for people of this age range to become involved in the community, philanthropy, and service while considering the demanding lifestyles and family obligations. Members will be given a voice on how funds are spent.
The time commitment will be minimal. One official meeting will be held in late October to discuss grants and include a social aspect.
Grant applications are due on October 15th of each year. The granting will be determined by members and sent to the BCF board for approval. As a requirement for the NGN grant, grantees must be a not for profit organization or group and the recipients of the grant must use the money to benefit residents of Barry County. Recipients are then asked to speak at the next annual meeting to update members on the project or program.
Members will determine the number of grants to be distributed based on the amount of money available for granting. Each member will have one vote.
