This scholarship was established by the family and friends of Alecia Lorraine Holst. Alecia graduated from TKHS in 2000. She had one class left to complete before graduating from Central Michigan when she died of heart failure. Her goal was to become a pediatric nurse. She had been accepted to Grand Valley State University in their nursing program in the fall of 2004.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Student must be a graduating senior of Thornapple Kellogg Schools or an approved licensed Michigan home school senior who lives in the Thornapple Kellogg school district.
- Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Student must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in Medical/Allied Health.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher and one from a 4-H leader.
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer work, or work experience.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
- Student must have participated in 4-H.
