This fund was established by a gift from the Vincent Vanasse Family Trust. The Vanasse Family desired to help working residents of Barry County who have fallen on hard times. The Trust Language stated: Said fund shall be administered by the Barry County United Way to benefit individuals who are employed. Such individuals face an unexpected crisis and need assistance to avoid losing their home, job, and/or projects that support them. The purpose of this fund is to assist these individuals in times of emergency through the cooperation of the Barry Community Foundation and United Way, ensuring immediate distributions from the fund while maintaining appropriate oversight.
