Beth Helrigel graduated from Thornapple Kellogg in the class of 1967. She enjoyed music and was a gifted painter who created many works. Beth also enjoyed being with her family and friends. Cancer took her life at the age of 47. This scholarship was established by her mother to provide assistance to students with a financial need and an interest in art or music.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Student must be a graduating senior of Thornapple Kellogg Schools or graduate of Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Student must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in Art or Music. If NO applicant meets this requirement, qualified applicants pursuing a secretarial or business program will be eligible.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation.
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer work, or work experience.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
