Don was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His far reaching skill set led him to several different careers. He was a technical writer, and worked in advertising in the 60’s. Ultimately he was a photographer and was referred to as “Digital Don” due to his cutting edge work in mobile video production. He was a frequent traveler, visiting countries all around the world, often in conjunction with his role in the Rotary Club, a group which he became President, District Governor and the founder of the Delton Rotary. He applied the four way test to his life: First, is it the truth? Second, is it fair to all concerned? Third, will it build goodwill and better friendships? Fourth, will it be beneficial to all concerned? The recipient will be a young person that can demonstrate a time, experience of decision that, even though not known, required the application of the test.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Student must be a graduating senior of Delton Kellogg High School
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school.
- Student must be involved in fine arts or visual arts/communication.
- Student must demonstrate strong ties to the Delton community.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content that demonstrates the use of the Rotary four-way test.
