This scholarship was created by Fran’s family to honor her memory as a very caring and good individual who loved her family and the community where she lived and volunteered. This memorial scholarship is looking for that individual who has been active both in and outside the classroom, with special consideration given to the applicant who has demonstrated exemplary character outside of the classroom.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Student must be a graduating senior of Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Student must have a minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Student must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in the Science (excluding engineering with the exception of bio/chem. engineering) or Medical field.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
- Student must provide a letter of personal character reference from an individual who is not family.
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer work, or work experience.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
- Student will be evaluated on ACT scores.
