Lois Ann Nagel Seppanen graduated from Thornapple Kellogg High School in 1947. She was employed for almost 30 years with Thornapple Kellogg Schools as the school district’s business manager. Lois was known for her organizational skills, business aptitude and efficiency. This scholarship is being established by her daughter, Jody Ann Helrigel Pratt, in memory of her mother. It is to provide assistance to students with financial need and an interest in business/management or accounting.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Student must be a graduating senior of Thornapple Kellogg Schools or graduate of Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
- Student must be accepted or enrolled at an accredited college or university full time.
- Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Student must be planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree in business, management or accounting. If NO qualified applicant pursing a degree in business, management or accounting applies, the award will not be given in said year.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Student must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
- Student must demonstrate community involvement through non-academic school activities, volunteer work, or work experience.
- Student will be evaluated on essay content.
